First Snow of the Second Winter

This film was shot in November 2022 in Irpin, a town near Kyiv, which was under Russian occupation during the first month of war. Audio materials are the dreams of Ukrainians during the first 3 months of the full-scale invasion, voiced by the dreamers.

The refugees search for Ukraine in an endless desert. The Artist searches for a new sense of artistic creation while living through war trauma. In different settings and ways, all the characters walk the path towards rethinking and reconnecting to their cultural and historical narratives as well as gaining back hope for the future.
